February

Brethren,

February is shaping up to be a great month at Edenburg Lodge, and we hope you’ll join us! This month, we welcome many guests for our Chili Cook-Off (Including some special guest judges)! This is a wonderful opportunity for fellowship, friendly competition, and sharing the spirit of our Lodge with friends and family. Come hungry and bring your family or a friend with you.

As part of our efforts this year to re-engage and reignite our Lodge, we’ve introduced three new traditions. One of those is Brother of the Month. Each month, we will recognize a Brother whose dedication and example reflect the best of Freemasonry. In January, we were proud to honor Brother Steve E. Amsler. Be sure to attend the February meeting to see who will be recognized next.

We will also present a Masonic Moment from 1776, in observance of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Each month, we will reflect on a Brother or event from that pivotal year and briefly explore its Masonic and historical significance - connecting our Craft to the founding ideals of our nation.

And finally, at the close of each meeting, we will share “Five Minutes of Light.” Each month, a different Brother will offer a brief reflection on Freemasonry... perhaps a favorite memory, a meaningful lesson, or a moment from ritual that left a lasting impression. It’s a simple way to share light and strengthen our bonds as Brothers. In January, some of us shared our New Year's Resolutions and hopes for Edenburg Lodge in 2026.

All three new programs will only add a few minutes to our meeting in total. They are not periods for discussion or debate, but rather education, recognition, and/or reflection. My goal is to "Spread the Light" this year, involve more people, and make Freemasonry shine brighter for everyone (re-engage and reignite)!

Our Program for February is Craft Night, featuring a ritual exemplification. We will focus on the Masonic funeral and on accepting and admitting visitors, along with time for questions and discussion on other ritual-related topics. If you’ve ever wondered how something is supposed to be done, or why it is done, this is the meeting you won’t want to miss.

Lastly, don’t forget our ongoing fellowship outside the Lodge. We will continue our monthly breakfast at the Carriage Inn, held at 8:00 a.m. on the last Saturday of each month. All are welcome - come enjoy good food and good company.

We look forward to seeing you in February and sharing another month of fellowship, learning, and light.

Looking forward,
Mike Graham
Worshipful Master
