March

Brethren,

March is a full and meaningful month for Edenburg Lodge. For starters, our annual Oyster Night will once again bring us together for fellowship and good food. We also have some great opportunities and a lot of work to do.

But before I continue, I want to recognize our February Brother of the Month, Brother Martin W. Hartman. Please join me in congratulating him and thanking him for his faithful service and dedication to our Lodge.

So as we enter March, we also enter the season of Lent. Lent is traditionally a time of reflection, discipline, and renewal. Whether you observe it formally or simply appreciate its spirit, it calls us to examine ourselves and recommit to becoming better men. That message should resonate deeply with every Mason. Our work is never finished. We are continually shaping our character, refining our conduct, and strengthening our commitments.

In that same spirit of service, Camo Cares will present our program this month. Their mission is to raise funds to send children with life-threatening illnesses or disabilities, as well as wounded veterans, on their dream hunt or outdoor adventure. It is work that changes lives, and I encourage you to come out and support it.

While we focus on fellowship and meaningful programs, we must also be intentional about the future of our Lodge. Our Federation plays a vital role in that effort. Federation meetings will be held the day before our stated meetings, and I encourage you to attend if you are able. There are repairs to address, cleaning to be done, and improvements to consider. More importantly, we need a clear plan for maintaining and strengthening our home moving forward.

As a reminder, our monthly Brotherhood Breakfast at the Carriage Inn will be held on the 28th at 8 AM. Our 150th Anniversary Committee will be at this meeting as well. As we prepare for this historic milestone, we need Brothers who are willing to contribute ideas, time, and energy. If you are interested in being part of that committee, please join us or let us know your intentions.

Finally, there are some important opportunities for Masonic education this month. The Regional School of Instruction will be held in New Castle on the 14th, and our regular School of Instruction will take place at Clarion Lodge on the 19th. Strong ritual builds strong Lodges, and these schools help us sharpen our skills and build our confidence in the work.

March is a month of renewal and forward movement. Let us approach it with purpose, unity, and a renewed commitment to the Craft.

Looking forward,
Mike Graham
Worshipful Master
